Hello & how lovely to meet you!
The personal stuff: Its always hard to know what to put in this bit, so much easier to sus a person out face to face! Of course on here you should expect the usual spiel about my skills and knowledge but if you met me in person you would soon see I am the warmest, most down to earth, people loving person.
I have lived in enchanting Norfolk most of my life surrounded by stunning beaches, architecture and countryside.
In 2004 (my wilder days) I married my husband in Vegas and we have 2 amazing children, who are astoundingly now standing taller than me!
Activities I consider a jolly good time are kitchen discos, live bands, sea swimming and walking in nature.
As someone who champions optimism and versatility, my previous jobs have included all kinds of things from acting, gardening, modelling to being a bank manager.
I have always loved image making and in 2017 decided to follow my dreams and go to Norwich University of the Arts where I achieved a 1st Class BA Hons in fashion communication and promotion, from here is where my styling and photography journey began ………….
So a bit about what I do in my creative styling and photography work: I am a upbeat, imaginative, versatile and contemporary stylist & photographer, who loves people & telling their stories by absorbing magical, joyful moments & creativity through my lens.
I observe each shoot in a 360, big picture thinking way to ensure every drop of the story’s essence is caught and who ever it is I am working for (family shoots, fashion, commercial and lifestyle brands) in Norfolk, London and beyond have everything they hoped for in the images and more.
My professional background/ qualifications: Following graduating from Norwich University of the Arts in 2020 with a First Class BA Hons Degree in Fashion Communication and Promotion, I was navigating towards a career solely in fashion, enjoying working on editorial & commercial photoshoots for fashion & lifestyle brands; but friends kept offering me local work shooting family photos, events, weddings and such like; I wasn’t prepared for how much I enjoyed sharing and capturing these special moments with people and how happy they were with the outcome, this has inspired me to branch out to include these services.
Some brands I have worked for and publications: The Way of Tea, Original Cottages, EGK Textiles, Ellice Lydia, Nina Naustdal and Alison Jackson Artist are some of the brands that have commissioned my creative direction and styling skills to successfully create promotional imagery for their brand.
My work has been published across industry media including Dodho, FotoNostrum, Candy, Hundred Heroines, County Wedding, Norfolk, Kensington & Chelsea Art Week, Boyfriend, Art of Portrait, Norwich Resident and Malvie Magazine.
In 2020 I won the 'A Day in Your Life' Photography Competition, curated by BAFTA and multi award winning photographer/ artist Alison Jackson.
My image was chosen by an esteemed panel of top industry & celebrity judges, and I also received the 'Hundred + Heroines' prize, for the style of feminist avant garde.
My prize was an amazing camera and I was offered an apprenticeship with Harrod's.
I have successfully created imagery in a wide range of diverse locations including the seaside, a derelict factory, boat yard & a beautiful, grand castle to name a few & sometimes in challenging circumstances; be it the weather, deadlines, changes of plans etc.
I have also had the privilege of working with some wonderful celebrities including the band Duran Duran.
Inspiration from fashion industry trends, news and popular culture inform my creative decisions, to ensures my work is always contemporary.
I bring an upbeat attitude and strong work ethic to all projects from concept, right through to resolution. The journey of creating an image is as important to me as the finished work. If everyone had a great time creating the image, I feel I have created something honest and upbeat to match my personality and aesthetic.
Sustainability and ethical practice are highly valued by me and factored into my work where possible.
